"Spirit of the R.L.C." launched
at appx 0110 with the ALB following reports of a surfer being swept
out from Sennen Beach in a rip tide and clinging to a rock.
After an extensive search by both lifeboats, a helicopter and Coastguard
cliff team, the casualty was eventually located on Sennen Beach
and airlifted to hospital. |
Weather :- fine; fresh southwesterly winds and
moderate sea.

ALB to carry out a cliff search
between Cape Cornwall and Pendeen following reports of person/s
trapped in a Cave
Norhing found after an extensive search and boats returned at 1830 |

| The
"Spirit of the R.L.C." launched during the early afternoon
to investigate an orange object floating just off the Cowloe reef.
It was feared this could be a capsized canoe.
Object turned out to be a huge piece of discarded trawl netting. |

wind.

young surfers caught in a rip tide
off Sennen Beach
Lifeboat landed two youngsters - cold, but safe and well, at the
lifeboat station. |

| The
"Spirit of the R.L.C." launched at 1505 to assist a teenager
stuck on the 3 Stone Oar rocks off Pendeen.
Casualty picked up by the ILB and landed ashore safe and well at
Sendy Cove, Pendeen |

| The
"Norman Salvesen "and the "Spirit of the RLC"
both launched at 2350 to assist a yacht with three people on board
ashore on Gwenver beach.
The ILB passed a tow line from the "Norman Salvesen" to
the stricken vessel through the surf and after some three hours
of work the yacht was successfully refloated and placed on the lifeboat
moorings in Sennen Bay
Lifeboat returned to station at 0345 |

| The
new ILB was diverted from Cape Cornwall Water Sports along with
the ALB to search for a reported cliff faller between Cape Cornwall
and Bosigran.
Climber located by the ALB and subsequently winched to safety by
a helicopter from
RNAS Culdrose
|

swell.

490 `Spirit of the ACC` |
| The
ILB launched at 1145 this morning along with the ALB following reports
of a youngster being swept out to sea off the beach at Portherras,
Pendeen.
Helicopter picked up the lad, who tragically did not survive.
Lifeboat crew assisted other persons on the beach before returning
to the Cove at 1330
|

490 `Spirit of the ACC` |
| The
ILB `Spirit of the ACC` launched from Sennen Cove at 2208 this evening
following reports of a person or persons stuck on The Armed Knight
off Land`s End.
This was found to be a false alarm with good intent and the ILB
returned at 2020
