THIS WEEK`S PLANNED WORKS

Week Commencing 23rd February

Plans for this week include continuing preparation of the granite plinths to take the new pre-cast concrete piers which will hold the new launch slipway. Works will continue in the boathouse to excavate an area of the boathouse floor in preparation for a base for the new
hydraulic tipping cradle.

Construction of a temporary access slipway into the boathouse from the old slipway to the west of the short slipway is also planned for this week, with demolition of the short slipway commencing when this temporary structure is complete.

Again during this week it is anticipated that only small amounts of spoil will be pulled over Cove Hill using a small dumper.

25th February
The two winch drums and winch motor unit loaded onto a lorry to go off for refurbishment this morning.

The lifeboat station looks odd without the long slipway - the short slip looks quite normal for a lifeboat station except that there is no sea anywhere near it !!
The works to construct a temporary access to the station doors from the harbour slip continued this week.
The `Norman Salvesen` continued to enjoy the unseasonally fine sea conditions on the moorings.
