The IB1 D Class `Spirit of the RLC` today moved to her new boathouse in the RNLI car park opposite the lifeboat station.
Since the establishment of an ILB at Sennen Cove in 1994, the lifeboat has been housed in the western corner of the boathouse and
launched down the recovery slip on her trailer - directly into the sea when the tide is in; and onto the beach and into the sea when
the tide is out.
With the new Tamar class lifeboat housed in the boathouse, there will not be room for the ILB, so a new boathouse has been constructed
adjacent to the Mechanic`s accommodation in the RNLI car park.
A tractor has been sent to the station and the images below show the new boathouse and the first exercise launch using the
tractor on 30th January.
