Relief Tamar class lifeboat `Victor Freeman`
The Relief Tamar Class Lifeboat `Victor Freeman` carried out an urgent launch at 1240 this afternoon following reports of a number of swimmers in trouble around the Carrick Rock at Porthcurno.
Penlee ILB had been tasked to this incident some 10 minutes or so before the ALB and they managed to rescue one person from the water. This person was transferred to a rescue helicopter from Culdrose for onward transfer to Treliske Hospital, Truro.
All other persons involved in the incident were accounted for; safe and well ashore.
Lifeboat returned to Sennen Cove at 1345.
Weather:- fine - wind westerly force three; 1 metre swell.
