"City of London III" launched late yesterday afternoon to assist the Nelwyn crabber `Harriet Eve`, under tow by her company boat "Christacha".
In poor conditions and approaching darkness it was felt lifeboat attendance would be prudent. This proved a wise move when the tow parted just southwest of the Runnelstone !
The Harriet Eve was quickly taken in tow by the lifeboat and proceeded towards Newlyn. Meeting up with Penlee Lifeboat off Mousehole, the crabber was taken into harbour by both lifeboats and safely berthed around 1930.
The `City of London III` bounced back home and was recovered at 2045.
