The main areas of interest for
birdwatching at Penzance centre around the waterfront. Mount`s Bay regularly hosts sea duck and the odd grebe ; and is easily viewed from the Promenade road. The Jubilee Pool hosts wintering flocks of Purple Sandpiper and Turnstone. |

The picturesque harbour holds the usual Black-headed and Herring Gulls - and is always worth a look - particularly at low tide when the harbour dries to mud. | |
Eastern Green beach - to the east of Penzance - often holds gulls and terns. The beach runs to the east at the head of Mount`s Bay right round to Marazion and St.Michael`s Mount. |
Penzance is a major town with all facilities
including railway. There are various car parks etc . Accommodation is easily available. Penzance is an excellent base for birdwatching is West Cornwall - giving easy access to Hayle and Marazion RSPB Reserves ; and the Land`s End area hot-spots.
