St. Michael`s Mount |
|
Situated in Mount`s Bay , just off the town of Marazion, St
Michael`s Mount is a unique island steeped in history. The Mount was widely known as a port by Prehistoric traders and was probably the island of `Ictis` from which Cornish tin was exported to the Greek communities around the 4th century B.C. The Mount can be reached on foot by a causeway for two to five hours per day depending on the state of the tide. When the tide is in, small ferry boats operate between the Mount and Marazion. St.Michael`s Mount is owned by The National Trust. |
