Penberth Cove
  Penberth - Jonick Cliff

Penberth Cove lies on the South Coast of the Land`s End peninsula, some 3½ miles southeast of Sennen Cove.
The Cove still supports a small fishing fleet - the boats now being hauled up the slip (or cauance as it is known locally ) by an electric winch, rather than the spectacular capstan.
Penberth never becomes crowded ; though there is good, safe swimming (best at high tide) .There is limited parking for a few cars at the end of the road ; leaving a walk of 200 yds to the Cove. The cliff path passes through the Cove , a good half-day`s walk from Mousehole, and a further hour on to Porthcurno.

There are very few facilities at Penberth - just public toilets ; and a public telephone part way up the road. Dogs are not allowed in the slipway and fish landing areas.

To reach Penberth from Sennen Cove, take the A30 towards Land`s End, bearing left after Sea View Camp Site , following the B3315 for Porthcurno. Do not turn right for Porthcurno, keep on for another mile ; just after the right hand turn to Treen (Logan Rock) turn right to Penberth Cove.

From Penzance , turn left onto the B3283 (3 miles) for St.Buryan ; continue through St.Buryan and two miles further on , come to a sharp lefthand bend and hairpin bend overlooking Penberth Valley . Follow road until ¾ way up the opposite side of the valley and take hidden left-hand turn to Penberth Cove.

Don`t leave the area without visiting Penberth !
