Drift reservoir is rightly regarded as one of the top local birdwatching venues.
The site boasts a large list of major rarities - a few recent species being Laughing Gull , Lesser Scaup, White-rumped Sandpiper and Kumlien`s Gull.

Cornish Birdwatching The Cornwall Birdwatching & Preservation Society
maintains a hide at the northwestern corner of the
reservoir. Reaching the hide involves a pleasant
walk along the western bank from the car park for
about half a mile - all in superb bird habitat.

Travel Directions to Drift Reservoir

Follow the main A30 from Penzance towards Land`s End for about 2 miles. At the crossroads on the hill in the village of Drift
turn right onto the unclassified road to Sancreed. The reservoir is about ¼ mile along the road on the right hand side.....hard to miss really !!
There is car parking for approximately 20 cars ; the site is owned by South West Water.
A lovely peaceful place - half a day can easily be spent walking round the reservoir.
